what changed on 2026-10-06

Until today the windows on this desktop still held the cards from the one-page version of the site. The desktop around them looked like a game; what was inside them did not. This round changes what is inside.
numbers
The numbers window is now a stock exchange site, egzchange. Every product is a ticker, and the index, EGZQ, is the sum of all of them. The note on the costume says what is real and what is dressing.
What it shows that the old window did not:
- the last finished month against the one before, with the running month kept out of the comparison
- a 12 month high and low
- how many finished months reached the $20,000 target
- one sortable table with every line of revenue, client work included
products and trash
Every product has a profile with its own address, for example /products#INSY. The trash lists the delisted ones with the last month they took money.
home
Home is a start page with a search box. It searches notes, products, tickers and windows, and runs entirely in the browser.
the desk
The desktop around the windows got the same treatment:
- new icons, one object and one colour per place
- icons are selected with a click and opened with a second one, like on an old desktop
- a taskbar along the bottom with a start menu and a button for every open window, instead of the menu bar along the top
- a sticky note whose to-do list is worked out from the latest figures
- a mission briefing
the rest
Opening a window plays a short page load in the status bar. There is an objective line above the taskbar, a price alert from egzchange once per visit, and a few other things.
