writing a note
Sep 30, 2026 · 1 min read
A note is a markdown file in content/notes. The file name becomes the address: content/notes/writing-a-note.md is served at /notes/writing-a-note.
Front matter
The block at the top of the file describes the note.

title: writing a note
description: one line, shown in the list and in link previews.
date: 2026-09-30
draft: true

titleis the heading and the window title. Without it the file name is used.descriptionis optional.datesorts the list, newest first.draft: truekeeps a note out of the production build. It still shows up locally.
Folders
A file placed one directory down, for example content/notes/tools/ffmpeg.md, is listed under a tools group in the sidebar. Its address stays /notes/ffmpeg, so moving a note between folders does not break links to it.
What markdown is supported
Headings of the second and third level are collected into the "jump to" list on the right of a wide window.
Text
Regular paragraphs, bold, italic, inline code, and links. Links to other notes, like how this desktop works, open in the same window.
Quotes and lists
A quote is set off with a rule down its left side.
- unordered lists
- with any number of items
Code
export function groszeToUsd(grosze: number): number {
return grosze / 100 / PLN_PER_USD;
}

Publishing
Notes are read when the site is built, so a new note goes live with the next deploy.
